Product Description

Read the FINAL BOOK in David Steece’s Paradox Trilogy!
In Paradox, the first volume in David Steece’s three-part autobiography, we are introduced to the real life gangster, “Blackie.” The author peeled back the layers of corruption to reveal a world of criminality, lust and violence at the heart of the Louisiana political establishment. In A Question of Honor, Steece leads his readers deeper into the heart of the underworld, revealing the innermost thoughts and workings of the Sicilian Mafia in the Deep South. Now, in Non Magis, Steece offers the final details in a life of contradictions where Blackie is transformed from the gangster running the muscle for organized crime to a police officer charded with the duty of upholding the law he once so easily lived outside.

Well I’ve been a bit lazy on my reading. Finished the first two but took a detour and started reading Mississippi Mud. Didn’t finish it because I remember the incident and believe Vince was dirty. So stopped reading. I started this to.tell you how nice the new website looks. I haven’t seen Bob lately, I’ve been wondering how he is doing. I’ve wanted to ask if you were involved in a case with JPSO that I was working here in MS at the same time.
Around the same time you were working in JP I was here in MS working a porn case with the MS HWY Patrol investigators. The case spaned over a year and after gathering a ton of intel it was leaked to the Clarion Ledger. Imagine my surprise when my wearhouse photo appeared with a headline “Mississippi Gulf Coast Wide Open and Wicked” . James Cornett was the operator and JPSO was working him and his stores at the same tine.
Hopefully you will get to this area sometime It would be nice to meet you.

The final book, Non Magis- No More-is wonderful. To me, it so vividly illustrates that no life is beyond redemption. Blackie has lived a life of incredible extremes-he went from a life in the Mafia to a life in law enforcement. I know! How can that possibly be? You have to read this book to understand. The book shows us the other side of this complicated man- especially the loving father side. It tells the story of how he managed to leave “the life” and become a part of the other extreme-law enforcement-and live to tell the story. He wanted better for his son especially. He didn’t want him to follow his father into the life as he had done. How he managed to pull that off is a compelling read. Blackie is an unforgettable character.
